During the reign of her father, King Alberto II, Crown Princess Maria was constantly under the media's watchful eye. Her second royal tour, which she embarked on without the Duke of NewCrest, sparked rumors about their relationship. People began to wonder if the couple was happy together or if the Duke regretted leaving his ex-wife for the Princess. The media speculated and judged the Royal Couple at every turn.

Aside from her relationship, Maria's outfits became a topic of great interest for the media, who used them to either praise or criticize her. During the tour, the Endeavor even published an article dubbing her "The Fashion Princess," albeit with a negative connotation. Maria's public speech, in which she announced her divorce from Duke Antonio Teheura while accompanied by her two sons, Crown Prince Giuseppe and Prince Lotario, only fueled the media's fascination with her life.

"I am conscious I have caused already a lot of gossips and I know what’s my position and my role in this country. That’s why I am telling you personally about my divorce. Now Lord Antonio is a great father and even a better friend and we make each other happy, we’re just not meant to be," she announced.

However, the divorce took a new turn when Lord Antonio Teheura revealed in an interview that he had discovered he was gay and had fallen in love with Maria's best friend, Francesco. He loved his family but was determined to live his own life and step down from his royal title.

Despite the drama surrounding Maria's personal life, the media continued to scrutinize her every move. When she was seen having a close conversation with a young man at an event in the palace's gardens, the press raised questions about whether she was trying to take back the focus of attention from her sister, Princess Noemi, or looking for the next Duke. Some even speculated that there was something wrong with Maria and married men. The gossip only intensified after Princess Noemi suddenly announced her marriage to Paolo, a waiter she had met at a gala, and that she was three months pregnant.

Noemi's announcement was shocking, as she had always been against getting married or having children. Even at the few engagements they did together, she appeared annoyed and sad. After giving birth, she announced her first solo Royal Tour to promote her charity project "Unwanted Pregnancy," which aimed to support single parents both economically and mentally.

In a public speech, Noemi spoke about her struggles with mental health and adjusting to her role as a mother after leading a lifestyle devoted to her royal duties. Meanwhile, Crown Prince Giuseppe and Prince Lotario made their first speech to address the sudden death of their father, former royal Antonio Teheura.

As more scandals rocked the palace, Crown Prince Giuseppe announced his engagement to Chiara, and the couple appeared in a public speech announcing their wedding. He promised to restore the monarchy's traditions, transparency, and strict following of protocols as a royal couple and future king. After their wedding, Prince Lotario also got married to Duke Mattia from Sulani.

However, tragedy struck when Crown Princess Maria suddenly died of a heart attack. Some papers suggested it may have been murder due to her scandals and because nobody wanted her on the throne. The royal family never opened a case, and the truth remains unknown.

Years later, King Alberto II passed away, leaving his grandson, Giuseppe II, to take the throne. In his "Restoring Reign," Giuseppe II promised to bring back the glory of the monarchy and regain the public's trust in the royal family.
